Home Boarding

Lothians & the Borders

We now offer Residential Training to help speed up your dog’s training process while you are on holiday, specialising in off leash obedience and dog social skills. During this program, your dog’s days are customised to focus on the things they need to work on the most.

We exclusively offer in home boarding for our Doggie Day Trip clients and for dogs who have completed Residential Training. Your dog lives in our home with us, and gets the same privileges, attention and affection as our personal dogs. During weekdays, they join the pack for group walks, and on the weekends they join us for countryside walks, BBQs with friends and cafe visits.

Bespoke residential training.

Our Board and Train programs are currently only available to existing training clients.

The primary concern when handing over your dog to a dog trainer is always - “will the dog behave the same way for me?” To ensure a smooth transition from your dog’s stay with us to coming home, we are require all dog owners to first go through private training sessions and group classes. This means, that by the time your dog comes for their board and train, your understanding of your dog, your timing and your handling will have improved, making it easier to keep up the training.

All our board and trains focus on giving your dog experiences which will influence how they view the world, and directly changes behaviour. For example, when working on social issues with other dogs, there can be limits to what the owner can teach. For example, the owner might be able to get the dog to a point that they are non-reactive and neutral in public. However, the final piece, learning how to read and respond to the body language during social interactions, and navigating such interactions smoothly, is best taught by other dogs.

6 Week Board & Train | £3550 (includes VAT)

  • Includes 1 Pre-Board & Train Meeting + 5 Private Sessions

  • Focus on advancing the dog’s social skills with dogs and people and generalising behaviours to different environments.

  • Improving play skills and obedience.

  • Training the dog in environments the owner struggles the most in.

  • Lifetime support through messages and video reviews

Please note that we do not take dogs with separation anxiety or resource guarding for residential training as these issues are often linked to the owner’s home and their relationship with the dog.

We occasionally make exceptions and offer a 4 week Board & Train. For dogs who are not yet training clients, 8 weeks might be required. Get in touch for more information.

Overnight stays.

Day Trip Clients

All boarding starts in the morning. This helps us make sure that the dog is happy and tired and settles well in the evening. The last day of boarding can end in either the morning or the evening. If your arrive late at night after travelling, please book your dog in until the next day. Monday-Thursday, pick ups and drop offs are done before and after the walks. Friday-Sunday, pick ups and drop offs are done at our home outside West Linton. Or at our team member’s homes in Midlothian or East Lothian.

£48/day (includes VAT)

Training Clients

Please note that we only offer in home boarding to select behaviour consultation clients. Your dog must have completed all training levels and have had several private socialisation sessions. In some instances, we may consider taking dogs for regular boarding after residential training.
